Undiscovered Voice is Long-listed for Waterstone's Prize
The 2010 Waterstones' Children's Book Prize has long-listed a book by Steve Hartley, one of the winners of the ground-breaking Undiscovered Voices anthology in 2008.
Danny Baker Record BreakerDanny Baker was Steve's entry to the first ever Undiscovered Voices anthology. The entry won him a place in the anthology and led to his representation by literary agent Sarah Manson and eventually to publication by MacMillan.
Asked how he felt about all this, Steve said: "I'm chuffed to bits! It just keeps getting better and better: getting chosen for the UV anthology, then getting an agent, then getting a publisher, then getting Nick Sharratt and Kate Pankhurst, now this! I'm not even allowing myself to think about the shortlist, although I wonder if that Obama chap wants a hand sorting out the Middle East, or would the threat of a Bogey of Mass Destruction make things worse?"
The World's Awesomest Air-BarfThe World's Biggest Bogey and The World's Awesomest Air-Barf will be published on the first of January 2010, with the next two books in the Danny Baker series out in July 2010.
Well done, Steve!
