Every attendee will be assigned a faculty mentor and will have the chance to book a slot with a commissioning editor. The evenings will be open for informal critique sessions, discussions on technique, craft and the children’s publishing industry.

Gerry Turley studied Illustration at Glasgow School of Art and at the Royal College of Art. Since, he has worked in many areas of illustration. Clients include Pentagram, Egmont Press, Met Studio and Puffin Books. He has just completed the artwork for a children's picture book called 'Woooo' using a combination of printmaking and photoshop, due to be published by David Fickling Books (Random House) in 2013. Gerry's work has been selected for the Bologna International Children's Bookfair Illustrators Exhibition 2012 and goes on tour with the exhibition to Japan until January 2013.

Gerry's work has also been included in 'Little Big Books: Illustrations for Children's Picture Books', published in 2012 by Gestalten. The book shows the work of contemporary children's picture book illustrators from around the world.

Gerry will be bringing his printmaking expertise and process to share with us at the retreat and get us all cutting out linos (don't worry, it's soft cut) and printing cool stuff before we know it.
