with Helen Stephens, author illustrator, Gerry Turley, author illustrator, Natascha Biebow, Blue Elephant Storyshaping (an editing, coaching, and mentoring service) tbc, and Sarah Frost, commissioning editor, Hodder Children's Books.
Join us for a creative weekend for picture book writers and illustrators on the River Avon in Worcester. There will be an optional set project for writers and illustrators and ample time for work on this or on personal projects. Every attendee will be assigned a faculty mentor and will have the chance to book a slot with a commissioning editor. The evenings will be open for informal critique sessions, discussions on technique, craft and the children’s publishing industry.
The retreat will start on Friday, 5th July (arrival from 4 pm) and end after breakfast on Monday, 8 July 2013.
Please note that this retreat may fill up quickly as there is limited spaces. Please book early to avoid disapointment.

her books, Helen lectures on the MA in illlustrating for children at Cambridge School of Art. Helen says, "My books always start with a drawing from life." With this in mind, one of the things
Helen wants us all to do is get out and sketch.
