Central East SCBWI

Secrets of the School Librarians, 21st January 2009

Central East region will be holding a joint meeting with Ipswich Children’s Book Group to meet with school librarians to discuss such topics as the role librarians play in children's reading habits, views on what is popular at the moment, what’s missing from the shelves and how authors can work more closely with school librarians. There will also be presentations by a Primary and a High School Librarian (Alison Baker from Stoke High School in Ipswich is planning to speak about her school library which is also a public library).

The event will take place on Wednesday, 21st January 2009 from 7.00-9.00 pm in The Library, Broke Hall Community Primary School, Chatsworth Drive, Ipswich, IP4 5XD. This meeting is open to all interested parties and would be a great opportunity for readers to join in a discussion about books and writing. There will be a small charge of £2 for members of ICBG and SCWBI, £3 for non members. Please contact Benjamin if you would like to come - centraleast AT britishscbwi.org.

Central East is just getting started. We run a bimonthly e-mail newsletter for our region’s members to keep in touch, informed and ex-cited about each other’s work. We also have groups that meet regularly in NORWICH and CAMBRIDGE for coffees and critiques.
